Mr. William E. "Bill" Phillips, 59, died Friday, August 25, 2000, in North Baldwin Hospital.
Mr. Phillips was a lifelong Baldwin County resident and was of the Baptist faith.
He was precedde in death by a son, Jeff Hadley, and a sister, Molly Maxine Phillips.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Phillips of Stapleton; a son, Rex Phillips of Stockton; six daughters, Eva Hillman of Beaumont, Miss., Beverly McCombs of Georgiana, Ala., Tammy Duffie and Ashley Phillips, both of Whitehouse Fork, Ala., Mimmie Phillips of Stockton and Julie Schofield of Greenville; three brothers, G. W. Phillips, Curtis Phillips and Wyatt Phillips, all of Stapleton; six sisters, Morrell Thompson of Bay Minette, Cynthia Ryder of Post, Texas and Elsie May Jones, Myra Stokes, Tempy Phillips and Joyce A. Smith, all of Stapleton; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Monday, August 28 at 2 p.m. at Stapleton Baptist Church with Brother George Underwood officiating.
Burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Stapleton.
Atmore Memorial Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
