Mrs. Bama Parker Brooks, 88, died Thursday, September 14, 2000, at her residence in Atmore.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Pankey W. and Allie Vinson Parker; a son, James Howard "Bully" Brooks and one granddaughter, Mary Sidney McDonald.
Mrs Brooks was a homemaker, a member of Brooks Memorial Baptist Church, and a native of Port St. Joe, Fla.
She is survived by her husband, Sidney Warren Brooks; two sons, Sidney Warren Brooks Jr. and his wife, Jerry and Franklin D. Brooks and his wife, Elouise, all of Montgomery; three daughters, Belle B. Whitehead and her husband, Bill, of Atmore, Allie Maxine Godwin and her husband, Douglas, of Bratt and Ann Brown and her husband, Joe, of Gulf Breeze ; one sister, Myrtle Elliot of Brewton ; 20 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Georgia Brooks of Atmore and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, September 16 at 2 p.m. at Johnson Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kelly Brown officiating.
Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Richard Brooks, Kevin Brooks, Scott Brooks, Eddie McKinley, Joey Brown and Ben Odom. Honorary pallbearers were Chuck Brooks, Mark Brown, David McKinley, Danny McKinley, Brooks Whitehead, Mike Whitehead, Billy Whitehead, Micheal Godwin Gina Sellers, Brenda Brooks, Tara Carter, Teena Loyal, Debbie McIntyre, Julie McDonald and Marsha Harrison.
Johnson Quimby Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
