One of the things that sets Williams Station Day apart from other festivals in small towns is the quality of the art. And part of the reason Atmore is able to sustain the high level of art at WSD is the Patrons of the Arts program.
This year, the Patrons of the Arts party will be hosted by Tom and Bonnie Latino. The party is sponsored by First National Bank of Atmore.
Williams Station Day actually has two art shows – juried and non-juried.
The non-juried show includes craft-type items created with patterns and stencils.
The juried art show is one of original art. Artists submit slides of their work which are reviewed by a Chamber committee for inclusion in the show.
Mims said having a juried show in a town of Atmore's size is somewhat unusual. Without the patrons program, the juried show likely would decline over time.
Mims said anyone with questions is welcome to call the Chamber office at 368-3305. If the call is after hours, leave a message and the call will be returned.
