Mrs. Sallie Elizabeth Coleman Chafin, 80, died Saturday, October 7, 2000 at her daughter's home in Perdido.
She was a lifelong resident of Baldwin County She was a retired bus driver with the Baldwin County Board of Education.
She was preceded in death by her parents, the Rev. Rudolph Taylor and Fannie Elizabeth Phillips Coleman and her husband James Horance Chafin. Mrs. Chafin is survived by a son, Mack Taylor Chafin of Perdido; three daughters, Dorothy Gwendolyn "Gwen" Chafin Stewart and her husband, Ivan, Melba Elizabeth Chafin Crnarich and her husband, John, and Patsy Ann Chafin Presley and her husband, Rodger, all of Perdido; seven grandsons, 11 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Sunday, October 8 at 2 p.m. at Pine Grove Free Will Baptist Church in Perdido with the Rev. Tony E. Downey officiating, and Ivan Stewart, her oldest son-in-law, givin the eulogy.
Burial was at Pine Grove Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Clark Crnarich, Phillip Presley, Ross Presley, David Chafin, Jeffery Chafin and Kenneth Wayne Stewart.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
