To the Editor:
The officers and members of the Escambia County Band Parents are requesting the help of the community in our uniform fundraising drive. Our children have worn the same uniforms for over eight years and they are worn out. We have contacted uniform companies and the total price is over $25,000.
We are asking that each church and business in the community sponsor at least one child at the cost of $250 each. If you are unable to sponsor a child, please sew a seed to the future of our children who have already endured so many struggles in our school system over the past few years.
We have been very encouraged by the response we have already received. Our first sponsors have already responded and so far we have six children sponsored. So at this time I would like to thank: United Bank, Creek Bingo Palace and Deliverance Ministry of Jesus Christ for their generous commitment. Letters are on the way out, so if you have not received a letter please feel free to make your tax deductible donation to the ECHS band.
Again, we would like to thank the community in advance for supporting our children. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact either Joan Baltes at 368-3683 or Lisa Little at 368-6093.
Sincerely,
Joan Baltes
ECHS Band Parents President
