Mr. Hugo Esneul, Jr., 92 years old, died October 30, 2000 in a Fairhope hospital. Mr. Esneul was a native of Hattiesburg, Miss. and a resident of Atmore.
He was born Dec. 4, 1907 to the late Hugo Eugene and Essie Brooks Esneul. He was the owner of R. Leon Motor Co., past president of United Bank of Atmore, Chairman of the Utility Board of Atmore, and the oldest active member of the Rotary Club.
Mr. Esneul is preceded in death by his wife Doris Huff Esneul.
He is survived by one son, Hugo Leon Esneul and his wife, Jo of Walnut Hill; two sisters, Virginia Hoomes of Nashville, Tenn., Catherine Lowrey of Atmore; two grandsons, Karl Esneul of Walnut Hill and Michael Esneul of Gulf Breeze, Fla., and one great-grandson, Daniel Esneul.
Funeral services of Mr. Esneul will be Wednesday, November 1, 2000, at 3:00 p.m. at Johnson Quimby Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to service time. Dr. John Brannon will be officiating. Internment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
