Relay for Life chairman
As chairman of this year's American Cancer Society Relay for Life in Atmore, I want to share this letter I received regarding last year's Relay.
Sincerely
Dr. Gordy Klatt,
Founder, Relay for Life
Reuel Johnson,
National Director, Relay for Life"
As chairman for Relay for Life 2001, I am in awe with what has been done in previous years. I applaud the American Cancer Society and Rusty Miller who has worked tirelessly for Relay.
I look forward to 2001, my first Relay as chairman, and encourage everyone in Atmore to join a team.
This terrible disease will strike one in two men and one in three women during their lifetime.
Relay's the signature event for ACS. This celebration is more than a fund-raiser; it's an event that reaches into the community to bring together neighbors, friends, work associates and families to celebrate those who have survived cancer and remember those who have not.
Relay is not a benefit for the ACS or an event to support ACS – it IS the American Cancer Society.
Our goal this year is $85,000. Kick-off is scheduled for Feb. 8, at the Lions Community Center.
