The Escambia County Lady Blue Devils finished the regular season on Saturday with a loss at the hands of Clarke County, 59-45.
The Lady Devils are now focusing on the area tournament where they enter as the third seeded team. They will take on Robertsdale, the second seeded team, on Friday in Blount.
Robertsdale has defeated ECHS in their two regular season meetings, but head coach Theodore White said his team has continued to improve and that the third time could be the charm for the Lady Devils.
The girls finished the regular season with a record of 7-12 and were 2-4 in the area.
White said he is proud of how his team has continued to work and improve despite losing.
In the meantime, the Lady Devils will have to stop Robertsdale and the key to doing that will be to stop their post players who dominate the boards.
If they win, the girls will move on to the area championship game. If they lose, the season ends for the Lady Devils. White said the girls have to enter the game with the proper attitude.
