Vernie Lee "Snooks" Tyree

Mr. Vernie Lee "Snooks" Tyree, 70, died Saturday, February 3, 2001, in McCullough.
Mr. Tyree was a native of Poarch and a resident of McCullough most of his life. He attended Gospel Light Church, was retired from Wilson Johnson Timber Company, was a constable of Escambia County and was employed with Staff Chevrolet.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eloise Lassitter Tyree and his parents, Robert and Carlie Tyree.
Mr. Tyree is survived by two sons, Edward "Shorty" Tyree and his wife, Linda and Eugene "Gene" Tyree and his wife, Patsy, all of Atmore; two daughters, Annice Barnhill and her husband, Kenny, of Phillipsville and Pam Ridlehoover and her husband, Billy, stationed at Andrews Air Force Base, Md.; a brother, Willard Tyree of McCullough; a sister, Mildred Bowman of Lottie; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 7 at 11 a.m. at Gospel Light Church with the Rev. Martin Gehman officiating.
Burial will be a McCullough Cemetery.
Eastside Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
