Cougars open season with victory

The Escambia Academy Cougars got their baseball season off on the right track Friday as they pounded Greenville Academy 8-4.
Leading the way at the plate was Rob Mosley who went two for four. Nick Jackson drove in two runs on one hit and Michael Cannon and Justin Shirley each had one hit.
Tripp Dawson pitched four strong innings for the Cougars and gave up no runs as he earned the win. The Cougars got in a jam in the top of the fifth inning but Rob Mosley came in for the final out and earned a save.
The Cougars are 1-0 on the season. Their first scheduled game of the season against Sparta was rained out Thursday, March 1.
The Cougars will host South Montgomery Christian Academy on Friday.
