Mrs. Gertrude Digmon Ahern, 69, died Monday, March 12, 2001, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola.
She was a native of Atmore and a member of St. Roberts Bellarmine Catholic Church.
Mrs. Ahern is survived by her husband William J. Ahern Sr.; a daughter, Sherry Digmon of Atmore; two sons, Bill Ahern and his wife Toni, and George Ahern and his wife Ashley, of Atmore; three sisters, Lillian Houston of Atmore, Eula White and her husband Tommy of Bay Minette, Dot Leroy and her husband Kevin of Mobile; two brothers, Joe Digmon and his wife Gail of Molino, and Ray Digmon and his wife Luverne of Atmore; six grandchildren, Stacy Ahern, Kim Ahern, Joseph Ahern, Jacob Ahern, Joshua Ahern and Claire Ahern; and one great-grandchild, Brad Sanders.
The family asks that contributions be made to the 2001 Relay for Life, in lieu of flowers. Contributions may be sent to Vickey Sellers, American Cancer Society, 1112 1st Avenue, Atmore AL 36502.
Mass will be held at St. Roberts, but final arrangements were incomplete at press time Tuesday.
