The Escambia Academy Cougars got their bats going too late as Faith Academy pulled out a 5-2 road victory.
Faith scored two runs in both the third and fourth innings to take a 4-0 lead and added one more in the top of the sixth.
The Cougars finally got their offense going in the bottom of the sixth when they scored one run and then added another in the seventh. But, the Faith lead proved to be too much for Escambia Academy.
Defensive errors spelled doom for the Cougars as EA pitching did not give up an earned run throughout the game. Bryan Adair started the game and pitched six solid innings, striking out three batters, while Kevin Adair came in for the final inning and held Faith scoreless while striking out one.
Leading hitters for the Cougars included K. Adair who went two for two at the plate, Josh Davis who added two hits out of four plate appearances while Rob Mosley and Nick Jackson each earned a hit.
