Mrs. Annie Ruth "Sister" Ray, 70, died Sunday, March 25, 2001, at a Mobile hospital.
Mrs, Ray was a lifetime resident of Atmore and attended Sardis Baptist Church and Canoe Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Lee Ray.
Mrs. Ray is survived by two sons, Johnny and Charlene Ray of Atmore and Jack Ray of Castleberry; his daughter, Judy and Jack Taylor of Atmore: two brothers, George Sanspree of Pensacola and Billy Sanspree of Indianapolis, Ind.; a sister, Betty Jo Donaldson of Atmore: seven grandchildren, Jeremy Ray,
Keri Bishop and Josh Ray, all of Atmore, Jennifer Smith of Stockton, Jessie Bedsole of Bay Minette, Brandy Dean of Harlingen, Texas and John Dean of Sears, Mich. and six great-grandchildren, Dustin Bishop, Mikala Dean, Dylan Johnson, Devin Bedsole, Nicholas Glass and Kalev Dean.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 27, at 1 a.m. at Eastside Chapel with the Rev. Evon Ingram officiating.
Burial was at Sardis Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jeremy Ray, Joshua Ray, John Dean, Kevin Bishop, Russell Smith and Mart Glass.
Eastside Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
