Mr. Hillary Benson Jr. 54, died Monday, April 9, 2001, at Jay Hospital.
He was a member of Damascus Baptit Church in Flomaton, was a retired truck driver and had served two years in the U. S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hillary and Jessie Bell Benson Sr.; a son, Scottie Benson; two sisters, Myrtle Lee Rhoden and Cora Lee Ellis and a brother, J. D. Benson.
Mr. Benson is survived by three daughters, Shirley Benson of Detroit, Mich., LaToya Oden of Pensacola and LaTasha Benson of Flomaton; three sons, Ronald Benson of Detroit, Hillary Benson III of Pensacola and David Benson of Montgomery; four sisters, Mary Matthews of Brewton, Arthurine Price and Minnie Price and her husband, Robert, all of Flomaton and Lillie B. Marshall of Mobile; two brothers, Willie Lee Benson of Brewton and Willie Morris Benson of Flomaton and 12 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 14 at 12 noon at Damascus Baptist Church with the Rev. Victor Archie officiating.
Burial was at Fannie-Damascus Cemetery.
Friends of the family were pallbearers.
Turner Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
