Mrs. Essie Lee Canada, 71, died Sunday, April 22, 2001, at Atmore Community Hospital.
Mrs. Canada was a lifelong resident of Atmore and a member of Senior Friends at Atmore Community Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Canada; a son, Carva Johnson; her parents, George Mack and LaBertha Walker and a host of brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Canada is survived by seven daughters, Marva Russell, Carolyn Gene Curry, Ester Jett, Sheila Hill and her husband, Kenneth, Brenda Walker and Teresa Russell, all of Atmore and Darnell Nichols of Birmingham; two sons, Larry Walker and his wife, Gladys, of Flomaton and Eric Canada and his wife Erica, of Birmingham; a sister, Annie Pearl Bell of Atmore and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 28 at 2 p.m. at Jones Street True Pentecostal Holiness Church with Bishop Willie L. Williams, Pastor, officiating.
Burial was at Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers were friends of the family.
Turner Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
