To the editor:
I am writing this letter as a means of informing my constituents of the situation that has existed for the past few months concerning my health and recuperation.
As you may know, I underwent heart bypass surgery late in January, which was successful, despite some complications. Shortly after the surgery, I began suffering from a staph infection, which has proven to be quite severe and has greatly slowed my recovery. I thank God that I did not have a heart attack and that the artery blockage has been successful, although my recuperation has been quite an ordeal.
Of great encouragement during this difficult time has been the outpouring of interest and concern of my friends throughout District 66, in the way of flowers, cards, food, visits, calls and other expressions of caring. This has helped me tremendously, and I appreciate this concern more than a mere letter can convey. But most of all, your prayers, both individually and as church families, have meant so much to me and my family.
As you are aware, a special session of the legislature has been called to begin June 25. If I continue to gain strength as I have recently, it is my plan to go to Montgomery for this session and to represent you according to your wishes.
Again, I thank the people of my district for their understanding during this trying time, and I look forwad to serving you at my fullest capacity in the near future.
F.P. "Skippy" White
Representative, District 66
