Mrs. Leona Barnhill Godwin, 87, of Huxford, died Friday, July 27, 2001, in Pensacola.
She was a retired homemaker.
Godwin was born in Oklaloosa County, Fla., on Oct. 30, 1913, to the late William and Cornelia Flemming Barnhill.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eveal Godwin, and a daughter, Doyce Godwin.
Mrs. Godwin is survived by three sons, James E. Godwin Jr., of Poarch, Winston B. Godwin of Huxford, and Herman J. Godwin of Cantonment; three daughters, Eddis G. Day of Cantonment, Sybil Yvonne Moss of Atmore, and Linda Ann Dixon of Jupiter, Fla.; two brothers, Luther Barnhill of Tillmans Corner, Ala., and W.C. Barnhill of Ensley, Fla.; three sisters, Pearl McGhee of Huxford, Linnie Johnson of Atmore, and Josephine Flowers of Walnut Hill; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Services were held Sunday, July 29, 2001, 3 p.m., at the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Jimmy Ray Flowers and Bro. Joe Welch officiating.
Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
