Mr. Robert A. "Bobby" Lowrey, 70, of Pensacola, died Friday, Aug. 10, 2001 following a lengthy illness.
He was a native of Canoe and had resided in Pensacola for the last 29 years.
His funeral was held at 2 p.m. on Monday, at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Dr. Ted Taylor and the Rev. Eugene Steele officiating. Burial was at Pensacola Memorial Gardens. Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home handled arrangements.
Lowrey was an active member of Olive Baptist Church. He was retired from Monsanto, then Fiberweb after serving in the army.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Ellie P. "Pete" Lowrey; three daughters and sons-in-law, Charlotte and Lamar Martin of Pensacola, Wanda and Danny Lindsey of Pulaski, Tenn. and Sandy and Hugh Jones of Pace; a son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Amy Lowrey of Crestview; 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren; a brother, Charles Lowrey of Atmore; and a sister, Peggy Byrd of Memphis.
Active pallbearers were Royce Cunningham, Ed Hicks, Josh Long; grandsons Jonathan Martin, Justin Lowrey and Eric Lindsey. Honorary pallbearers were his former football teammates from Atmore.
