Mr. Robert George Jr., 66, died Thursday, August 30, 2001, in Atmore Community Hospital.
He was a native of Conecuh County and a resident of Atmore for many years. He was a member of Second Mt. Triumph Baptist Church and a retired logger.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Leanna George; a daughter, Marcella George; his parents, Ethelsten George and Robert George Sr.; two sisters and step-daughter, LaToria McCullam.
Mr. George is survived by his wife, Linda Faye George of Atmore; five daughters, Gennie George, Mary George and Annie Rose George, all of Atmore, Florence West and her husband, Sam, of Mobile and Diana George of Richmond, Va.; three sons, John Mims and his wife, Michelle, of Mobile, Johnny Robert George of Atmore and Henry John George of Coram, N.Y.; a brother, Clinzel George of Atmore; 24 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday, Sept. 2, from 1 to 8:30 p.m. at Turner Funeral Chapel.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Sept. 3, at 1 p.m. at Second Mt. Triumph Baptist Church in Atmore with the Rev. Charles Jones officiating.
Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.
Turner Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
