Mrs. Erma Lee Hick, 66, died Wednesday, October 31, 2001, at her residence.
Mrs. Hicks was a native of Nymph in Conecuh County and a resident of Century for many years. She was a member of and usher at Greater Union Baptist Church. She had retired from Escambia County (FL) Board of Education where she had worked as a custodian at Century high School.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl Lee and Queen Esther Stallworth and her husband, John Hicks.
Mrs. Hicks is survived by five daughters, Ariel Watts of Pensacola, Janice Moore and her husband, Robert, Gloria Castleman, Carolyn Moore and Melissa Dixon and her husband, Leonard, all of Century; two sons, Kenneth Earl Hicks and Kerry Hicks and his wife, Sherry, all of Century; a sister, Juanita Lett of Brooklyn, N. Y.; three brothers, Eddie Frank Washam and his wife Fannie, of Mobile and Eddie Lee and John Stallworth, both of Century; her mother-in-law, Gladys Hicks of Century; four sisters-in-law, Bettye Jo Hicks of Boston, Mass., Barbara Reise and her husband, George and Rose Helen King, all of Century and Debra Hicks of Century; a brother-in-law, Pete Hicks and his wife, Alberta, of Boston; four aunts, Bernice Whittle and her husband, Henry, of Castleberry, Antoinette Bush of Highland Park, Mich., Anice Bainett of Atlanta, Ga. and Eddie Lee Ray of Century; a host of grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 4 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Turner Funeral Chapel.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 5 at 10 a.m. at Pilgrim Lodge Baptist Church with the Rev. Leonard Watson officiating. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be a Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola at 12:30 p.m.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family
