Mr. James Carlton "Jimmy" Courtney, 63, died Wednesday, November 21, 2001, at a Florida hospital.
He was a native of Chatom and resident of Century most of his life. He was retired from Escambia County Road Department.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Courtney Sr. and two brothers, Arthur Courtney Jr. and Robert Ellis Courtney.
Mr. Courtney is survived by his mother, Louise Courtney of Century; a daughter, Terry Tharp of Century; three sisters, Eloise Albritton of Pensacola, Diane DeVille of Walnut Hill and Linda Nowling of Flomaton and two grandchildren, Jessica Hagyi and Jillian Hagyi.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 24 at 1 p.m. at Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Earle Greene and the Rev. Andrew Wilson officiating.
Burial was at Crary Memorial Chapel.
Eastside Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
