BRATT An 18-year-old Atmore resident was killed Sunday morning when she lost control of her 1989 Oldsmobile and went into a slide for nearly 300 feet before striking a trailer in the Bratt area. No other injuries were reported in the one-car accident.
Lecie Jo McGhee, 18, of 209 Roberts Street, Atmore, was killed in the wreck that occurred "on McElhaney Road, 333 feet north of Cecil Road" in Escambia County, Florida, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred at 10:45 a.m.
According to information released by the Florida Highway Patrol, McGhee was traveling "60-65 miles per hour" when the accident occurred and she was not wearing a seatbelt.

The Florida Highway Patrol reported that she was traveling northbound on McElhaney Road when she went into a slide with the right side of the vehicle leading.
The car slid for 271 feet on the west shoulder of McElhaney Road, the report indicates, before it struck what the report calls a homemade trailer with its right side.
According to the report, "The front of the trailer rose up and traveled through the windshield and pushed the top of (the Oldsmobile) rearward."
After the collision, the car "rotated clockwise and came to a rest headed east," while "the trailer rotated clockwise and came to a rest headed west."
Miss McGhee was the daughter of Sandra McGhee and John McGhee of Atmore. She was the sister of Zachary and Jacob McGhee.
Her funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday with visitation from 6 to 9 p.m. tonight from 6 to 9 p.m. at Atmore Memorial Chapel.
