Mrs. Addie Mason, 73, died Saturday, December 22, 2001, at her residence.
Mrs. Mason was a native of Canoe and resident of Atmore most of her life. She was a member of Zion Star AME Zion Church, a member of the Missionary Society and recently was awarded the Life Matron Certificate of the Women's Home and Overseas Missionary Society of the AME Zion Church. She was also a member of Good Hope #429 Order of Eastern Stars in Atmore.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jewel Mason Sr.; her parents, Henry and Edna Watson; a brother, Frank Watson and two sisters, Ida Mae Archie and Lula Pugh.
Mrs. Mason is survived by five daughters, Jewel Louise Boller of Pensacola, Veronica Hairston of Philadelphia, Pa., Marion Brenda Choate and her husband, Larry, of Cincinnati, Ohio, E. Ann Clemons and her husband, Don, of Montgomery and Victoria Mason of Atmore; two sons, Jewel Mason Jr. and his wife, Bonnie and Harold Mason and his wife, Patricia, all of Atmore; two sisters, Nancy WIlliams and Curlie Mae Newkirk, both of Chicago, Ill.; a brother, Henry Watson Jr. of Century; 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, December 27 at 2 p.m. at Zion Star AME Church with the Rev. Willie Wright officiating.
Burial was at Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers were friends of the family.
Turner Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
