Mrs. Hazel Grimes Barnett of Atmore died Saturday, January 5, 2002.
She was a native of Nauvoo and a retired teacher from Escambia County Board of Education.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Claude Barnett and her parents, John Thomas and Elizabeth Romines Grimes.
Mrs. Barnett is survived by a son, John Gilbert Barnett and his wife, Unaray, of Birmingham; two daughters, Elizabeth VanPelt and her husband, George, of Davisville and Dianne Rose and her husband, Rex, of Atmore; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 7 at 11 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home with Dr. Doug Newton officiating.
Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Scott Barnett, Tommy VanPelt, Stephen VanPelt, George VanPelt, Rex Rose and Jim VanPelt.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.
