Leisha Strickland, 28, of Atmore, was listed in critical condition Tuesday afternoon.
According to Atmore Police Chief Bruce Lovette, eyewitnesses at the scene said that Strickland moved in front of the vehicle.
Strickland was taken by helicopter to Baptist Hospital in Pensacola where she was listed in critical condition Tuesday.
Lovette said that Strickland was still on life support as of Monday morning, but officials with Baptist could not release that information on Tuesday.
Lovette said that the driver of the vehicle was a young girl, but could not confirm whether or not she was a juvenile. He would not release the name of the driver or a description of the vehicle, saying that "it was not relevant," and that releasing that information "wouldn't do any good."
The accident is still under investigation. Officers with the APD had not completed a report on the accident as of Tuesday afternoon.
