Charles "Polly" Lawson

Mr. Charles 'Polly' Lawson, 63, of Atmore, died Friday, July 12, 2002, at Atmore Community Hospital.
Mr. Lawson was a member of Mt. Gillead Missionary Baptist Church where he was a member of the Trustee Board and Male Chorus. He was retired from Monsanto in Pensacola.
He was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Glen Lawson.
Mr. Lawson is survived by his wife, Dertha W. Lawson; four daughters, Felecia Lyles and her husband, Daniel, of Atmore, Yowanda Knight and her husband, Leroy, of Knight of Stone Mountain, Ga., Robin DIckinson and her husband, Shun, of Saraland and Temeka Brown and her husband, Shane, of Decatur, Ga.; two sons, LaKetrick Lawson and Derriel Lawson, both of Montgomery; his mother, Noble Davis of Atmore; four brothers, Melvin Lawson and his wife, Dot, of Ft. Myers, Fla., Wamon Davis Jr. and his wife, Rosa, Jerome Davis and Donald Davis, all of Atmore; two sisters, Annie Ruth Edwards of Mobile and Mable Bessent and her husband, Michael, of Clermont, Fla.; his stepfather, Wamon Davis Sr.; seven grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Kittie Lee Williams; seven sisters-in-law; six brothers-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends and devoted friend, Willie Matthews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 16 at 1 p.m. at Mt. Gillead Baptist Church with Dr. Alfonzia Williams Sr. officiating. Burial was at Fairview Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Kendrell Knight, Montrell Knight, Javaris Williams and Cordarys Young.
Robinson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
