Hultz headed to state competition

Meghann Hultz of East Brewton blew judges away Saturday night with not only her poise and astuteness, but with her beauty as she walked away with the title of Escambia County Junior Miss.
Hultz was crowned Saturday, July 20 at the close of the ceremony held at the Jefferson Davis Community College auditorium.
Hultz, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenny and Teresa Hultz of East Brewton, attends W.S. Neal High School.
Joining her on stage were first alternate Hannah Salter, second alternate Tiffany Oliver, and third alternate Lindsey Smith.
Salter is the daughter of Randy and Kathryn Salter of Brewton and attends T.R. Miller High School.
Oliver is the daughter of Jimmie and Bertha Oliver of Brewton and attends W.S. Neal High School.
Smith is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Smith of Brewton and attends T.R. Miller High School.
Individual awards announced included:
Organizers said the program gave away over $10,000 in scholarships to the girls that participated.
On hand for the event was Courtney Dettling of Atmore, the 2002 Escambia County Junior Miss. Master of Ceremonies for this years program was Mary Beth Lancaster of Atmore, who was crowned Escambia County Junior Miss in 1988.
