Paul Keane has been named publisher of Atmore Newspapers, Inc., publishers of The Atmore Advance and the Escambia Advertiser.
Keane comes to the paper from Louisville Newspapers, Inc. in Louisville, Miss. Both companies are part of Boone Newspapers, Inc., based in Tuscaloosa.
Keane served as a sports editor and editor at various papers in Texas before joining the staff of Gulf Coast Newspapers in Baldwin County, where he served as a sports editor and sports coordinator for six newspapers before becoming editor of The Foley Onlooker.
In June of 2000, he joined The Clanton Advertiser as General Manager, serving there for 18 months before moving to Mississippi to serve as general manager.
Keane and his wife, Doris, have three children -- Chris, 13, Kelly, 11, and Steven, 4.
Keane will replace Brian Blackley as publisher.
