WSD contest winners announced

Despite rains off and on throughout the day, participants and attendees of Williams Station Day enjoyed plenty of good food, entertainment and crafts.
The following is a listing of all the winners from the various competitions held throughout the day:
Fine Arts Show
Best of Show: Larry Manning, Pottery
First Place: Kurtis Thomas, Serigraphs
Second Place: Celine Wood Meador, Impressionistic Photography
Merit Awards
Marty North, Pottery; Lawrence Trotter, Hand Carved Waterfowl; Ronald Lewis, Oils, Watercolors and Acrylics; Tom Snyder, Handcrafted Jewelry Boxes; and Vriginia Wall, Watercolors.
Craft Show
Merit Awards
Linda Arnold, Hand Painted Porcelain; Maria Bryars, Mail Boxes and Painted Windows; Gloria Langley, Vintage Dolls, Bears and Angels.
Scarecrow Building Contest
First Place: Leadership Atmore Class of 2003
Second Place: Atmore Nursing Care Center
Third Place: Escambia Academy Student Government Association
Car Show
President's Choice: Cindy McKinley, 1940 Chevrolet Coupe
Mayor's Choice: Dauphin Gohagin, Chevelle
Fartherest Driving: Shannon Kersey, Pensacola
Winner of 50/50: Scooter Stafford
A total of 27 cars were registered for the event.
Winners in the Pumpkin Carving/Painting Contest were not announced because pumpkins were picked up before winner's names could be recorded.
