Nominations for Citizen of The Year being taken

The Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce announced Friday it is now accepting nominations for Atmore's 2002 Citizen of the Year.
This award which is presented at the chamber's annual meeting recognizes an individual who has made outstanding contributions to our community. The chamber has presented this award each year since 1978. In 1996 a Lifetime Achievement Award was added.
Nominations for both the Citizen of the Year and/or Lifetime Achievement should be mailed or hand delivered to the chamber office at 501 South Pensacola Avenue. Deadline for nominations is Dec. 30 at 5 p.m.
The Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce's 57th Annual Meeting will be held on the evening of Jan. 7, 2003. Gary P. Fayard, Senior Vice President and CFO of The Coca-Cola Company will be the guest speaker. Fayard is the son of the late Elam Fayard and Mrs. Sarah Fayard of Atmore.
Prior to joining Coca-Cola, Fayard served 19 years with Ernst &Young, concluding his tenure as area director of audit and manufacturing services. He received his bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Alabama and is a licensed CPA in Alabama and Georgia.
Fayard has a unique insight into today's global economy and can encourage everyone through his personal success.
