Two senior athletes from Escambia Academy have been selected to be a part of the AISA All Star football game on Dec. 6 in Selma. Megan Bennett and Jace Beasley were both selected to represent their school as part of the AISA west teams.
Bennett, the daughter of Al and Sandy Bennett, is the captain of the Escambia Academy varsity cheer team and has cheered throughout high school. She was chosen to attend the All Star game while at camp this summer. She will also cheer at the All Star basketball game later this winter.
Megan will leave two days before the game for Selma. While in Selma she will work with other All Star cheerleaders to learn the routines.
Beasley, the son of Ronnie Beasley and Janet Swift, will represent Escambia Academy as part of the West football team. Beasley, who also plays basketball and baseball, was selected to attend the game by AISA football coaches at the end of the season. Beasley's stats for the year include 94 carries, seven TDs, and over 1,000 yards in offense for nine games.
Beasley will leave for Selma on Dec. 4. While there he will take part in two a day practices in preparation for the game.
Both Bennett and Beasley will take part in the All Star banquet on Dec. 5.
