Children throughout the area are being asked to submit their "Letters to Santa" to be published in a special holiday edition of The Atmore Advance.
"We know there are plenty of children out that that have a long wish list for Santa this year," said Paul Keane, publisher of The Advance. "We want to publish those letters in a special edition of the paper, and we'll also do everything we can to get those letters to Santa in time for Christmas."
The special edition will publish on Dec. 22 and will feature Christmas greetings from area businesses, along with other holiday features. Every letter submitted by 5 p.m. on Dec. 19 will be published in the special edition.
Letters submitted after that deadline will not be guaranteed publication in the section, although Keane said every effort would be made to get them in the section.
Classes and students in all of the area schools are encouraged to submit their letters, with teachers being asked to use this as a writing project that will allow students to see their work published. All letters should include the full name and the age of the author.
Letters can be dropped off at the offices of the Advance, 301 S. Main Street, or faxed to 368-2124. Letters can also be e-mailed to paul.keane@atmoreadvance.com.
Please include the name and phone number of a contact person should additional information or clarifications be needed. For more information on the program, contact Keane at 368-2123.
