The Escambia Academy Lady Cougars were in action at home Tuesday night against the Clarke Prep Gators. The Lady Cougars soundly defeated the Gators in a 45-16 blowout.
The game began with EA holding Clarke Prep to only one point in the first half of play while putting up twenty-six points of their own. During the second half, Clarke was finally able to put up sixteen points, but there was no question that the Lady Cougars were firmly in control of the game.
Leading the Lady Cougars in points were Meagan Jackson and Kaylie Castleberry with 12 points each. Castleberry had four rebounds while Jackson had one rebound and three steals. Next in scoring was Rayleen Miller with eight points and one rebound. Jessica Gibbs scored four points with five rebounds, Lori Bonds scored four points with two rebounds and three steals, Mandi Norton had two points, eight rebounds and two steals, Jamie Drew had two points and two rebounds, and Alison Thomas had one point and one rebound. Ellen Corman and Shelby Hester each had one rebound.
The Lady Cougars faced Pike Academy on the road Thursday night. They will be in action again on Dec. 10 at Wilcox Academy.
