M.L.K Jr. Parade set for Monday

The annual Martin Luther King Celebration and Parade, sponsored by the NAACP, will start at the Houston Avery Park at 9 a.m. Monday and continue to City Hall where several Atmore area pastors will hold a prayer of unity.
After the prayer, the parade will continue to Gaines Chapel Church on Carver Avenue where it will culminate with a program that will include speakers such as NAACP State President Rev. A.L. Shanklin and others from the government. The New Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Choir will give a musical tribute and the program will feature a surprise special guest.
