All four EA teams defeat Lowndes Academy to wrap up week

The Escambia Academy Cougars continued their success Friday night as all four teams defeated Lowndes Academy at home.
The JV girls began the evening with a 29-20 win. Lori Bonds led the team with 15 points, continuing her great season. Jaime Drew and Courtney Smith each scored five points, and Alison Thomas and Morgan Dorriety were responsible for two points each. The win moves the JV Lady Cougars to 9-4 on the season.
The JV boys improved their record to 6-6 as they defeated Lowndes 42-31. Cody Norton and Matt Ash each scored 11 points for the Cougars. They were followed by Andrew Lambeth with ten points and Joseph Drew and Brandon Moore with five points each.
The red-hot Lady Cougars won once again as they put up a 49-32 defeat over the visitors. Bonds also led the Lady Cougars as she scored 16 points for the varsity team. Meagan Jackson followed her with ten points, Mandy Norton scored eight, Jessica Gibbs had six, Kaylie Castleberry had five, and Anna Parish and Rayleen Miller each scored two points. Gibbs led the team with eight rebounds. The win places the Lady Cougars at 15-3 on the season, second in the state.
The varsity Cougars slaughtered Lowndes in a 67-28 victory to place their record at 15-3. Cole Norton and Robert Hardy led the scoring with eleven points each. They were followed by Zack Smith with ten points, Cody White with nine, Billy McCann with six, Bradford Price with five, Chris Moore and Jace Beasley with four, David Daniel and Steven Shirley with three, and Zack Thomas with one point.
EA will play at home on Friday night as they take on Evangel Christian beginning at 4:00.
