Five fire departments on Monday responded to a fire at the Flomaton home of Joe Thomas, editor of The Tri-City Ledger.
The blaze at 1814 Wilkerson in Flomaton was called in at 9:48 a.m. Monday, and officials arrived on the scene at 9:52. Officials said the blaze is still under investigation, but it started in the laundry room. The laundry room, den and parts of the kitchen were damaged by the fire, while the rest of the house sustained smoke damage. Responding to the fire were Flomaton, Friendship, Lambeth Community, Century and McDavid Fire Departments.
