Tuesday was an exiting day for the Lady Blue Devils as they prevailed in a double header in East Brewton against the hosting W.S. Neal Blue Eagles.
The Lady Blue Devils were on a roll as they won the first game 11-0 over the Blue Eagles. The Lady Devils put in a great effort as they dominated W.S. Neal on the mound.
The game started off to an explosive state for the Lady Devils who racked up a 2-0 lead in the first inning of the game against the Lady Eagles.
The Lady Eagles continued to struggle throughout the game but couldn't muster up the effort to overcome the Lady Devils game plan.
In the second game of the day the Lady Devils weren't quite as strong as they were in the first game, letting the Lady Eagles slip in a couple of points on the board, but were more than capable of controlling the tempo.
The Lady Eagle comeback didn't last for long as the Lady Devil's came back to play even stronger than in the first game.
The Lady Devil's were back in action on Thursday dropping a 6-4 loss to Bay Minette after eight innings.
In Thursday's game Cassie Lassiter showed up with an outstanding pitching preformance. In the first four innings the Lady's struggled the most with batting, but that didn't last for long as they started comeing back in the fifth inning.
"Samantha, Gia, Valisa, Taumaniek and Lasheka were the key hits in the fifth inning," said Lady Devil Head Coach Christy Nall.
"Any time you play a close game or even go into extra innings with Bay Minette, that says a lot about your team."
According to Nall, she still feels that's too early in the season to gauge the girls and that they are still a team that is improving with every game.
"Don't count us out because we will rally back," said Nall.
