Colonel Jerry Wayne Cruit

Funeral services for Colonel Jerry Wayne Cruitt, 54, United States Air Force Retired, will be held today, March 5, 2003, at 11 a.m. at the Emerald Coast Funeral Home in Fort Walton Beach, with Pastor Don Kirsch officiating with full military honors.
Recently retired from the Air Force, where he was a hero and patriot, he had a distinguished 30-year career as a helicopter pilot and served in Vietnam, Panama and Desert Storm. He died on March 2, 2003 in Santa Rosa Beach.
He will be remembered as a wonderful man, cherished by his friends. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and son and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Lynn; two sons, Trampas and his wife Beth of Santa Rosa Beach, and Chandler and his wife Beth of Shreveport, La.; his mother, Dot Lowke of Atmore; his two grandchildren, Kara and Kate; and many extended family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to a charity of one's choice in the deceased name.
Emerald Coast Funeral Home of Fort Walton Beach was in charge of arrangements.

Troy Harris, 21, died on March 3, 2003 at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola.

Funeral services for Patrick C. Anderson, 53, were held on March 1, 2003 at the Greater St. John Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. P.M. Waller officiating. Interment followed at Robinson Cemetery in Stockton.
A native of Stockton and a resident of Columbus, Ga., he was born on June 20, 1949 and graduated from Douglasville High School in 1968. After graduation, he joined the United States Army and retired in 1989. He died on Feb. 21, 2003 at his residence.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Anderson; his father, Lorenzo Anderson; his mother, Exaline Anderson; three sisters, Lottie Anderson, Rubinstein Lafette and Thelma Hardy; a brother, Wilmer Branch; and a brother-in-law, Charles Day.
He is survived by his wour children, Marion (Pamela) Anderson, Felicia Anderson, April Anderson and Robert Lorenzo Anderson, all of Columbus, Ga.; four grandchildren, Kendra Anderson, Keonta Anderson, Kiya Anderson and Kenesha Griffin; six sisters, Marie French of Stockton, Myrtle (Desi) Anderson of Jamaica, N.Y., Hester Robins of Toledo, Ohio, Francis Day of Chicago, Ill., Jacqueline (Ray) Jones of Stockton, and Margaret Jones of Mobile; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Dwight Anderson, Otis Horace, James Hills, Almo Tarbert, Alvin French, Donald Anderson, John Darnell and Ray Jones. Flower bearers were relatives and friends.
Robinson Funeral Home of Atmore was in charge of arrangements.

Lillian Digmon Houston

Funeral services for Lillian Digmon Houston, 77 and a resident of Atmore, were held on March 1, 2003 from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Byrd Mapoles officiating. Interment followed in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Born in Escambia County, Ala., on March 29, 1925 to the late James Floyd and Maude Pearl Bowman Digmon, Sr., she was a secretary with Alabama Power. She died on Feb. 27, 2003 in Mobile.
He was preceded in death by her husband, Foster Houston; a brother, James Digmon; and a sister, Gertrude Ahern.
She is survived by a stepson, Douglas Houston; two brothers, Joe Digmon of Molino and Paul Ray Digmon of Atmore; two sisters, Eula Digmon White of Bay Minette and Dorothy Digmon LeRoy of Mobile; and four grandchildren.

James R. Hammac

Full military funeral services for James R. Hammac, 85, were held on March 4, 2003 at the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home in Prospect, Conn. Burial with full military honors took place in Pine Grove Cemetery in Ansonia.
Born on Dec. 16, 1917 in Brewton, he was the son of the late Will Mark and Abbie (Wade) Hammac. He was a retired iron worker, working for the Ironworkers Union Local 232. He also was retired from the Olsen Steel Company in Bridgeport, where he had worked for many years. He was a part-time limousine driver and a former secretary for the Iron Workers Union. He was a veteran of World War II in the U.S. Army and a member of the Seymour Evangelical Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by a son, James W. Hammac, a daughter, Gloria Burns, three brothers and a sister.
He is survived by his wife, Theodora (Schumacher) Hammac of Prospect; three sons, William J. Hammac of Naugatuck, Dennis Hammac of Florida and Joseph G. Pardee of Columbia, Conn.; seven daughters, Janice Rice of Beacon Falls, Conn., Rose Deegan of New Port Richey, Fla., Florence Hansen of Prospect, Theodora Gercy of Ansonia, Conn., Mary Jean Janczyk of Bristol, Conn., Penelope Vann of the Phillipines and Susan Talbot of Bristol; two sisters, Nell Watson of Mobile and Bonnie Smith of Pensacola; 33 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and several neices and nephews.
