Atmore firefighter Dan Currie reads a selection from Dr. Seuss' The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins on Feb. 28 at Huxford Elementary as part of its Dr. Seuss birthday celebration. The celebration's theme was Hats in Occupation and Huxford hosted several area professionals who wear hats as a part of their uniform as readers throughout the day. Each student at Huxford received a copy of Dr. Seuss' Green Eggs and Ham, donated by the Poarch Creek Indians and supplied by the Wal-Mart of Bay Minette, who coordinated the effort. "This is the best Dr. Seuss day we have ever had," said Huxford Principal Betty Warren.
