Editor,
Dot Killam, executive director of West Escambia County American Red Cross, and I want to make some comments to the people about our Escambia County High School.
We participated in a blood drive there last Friday, and we have never worked with a more cooperative group of young people -- both the National Honor Society group that sponsored the drive and the 59 students who signed up for donations. Of these, we collected 39 units.
Some of the students had colds or various illnesses, did not weigh enough or, for other reasons, could not pass the physical test they have to take. We look forward to having them back next year.
We were so pleased to observe the good behavior of all the students. So often, we hear only of the negative, but there is a lot of "positive" in this school.
Go see for yourself! We would like to have you assist in a blood drive sometime.
Elise Crook, Atmore
