Imer Nichols Hall Tyus

Funeral services for Imer Nichols Hall Tyus, 94 and a resident of Bay Minette, were held on March 14, 2003 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed at Godwin Cemetery in Bratt.
A native of Escambia County, fla., she died on March 12, 2003 in a local health care facility.
She is survived a son and daughter-in-law, Walter C. Hall, Jr. and Martha Thomley Hall of Bay Minette; a sister, Annie Kee of Pensacola; four grandchildren and their spouses, John and Stephanie Hall of Wilmer, Jimmy and Irene Hall of Millington, Tenn., Charlott McCarn and Rick Cravey of Bay Minette and Debra Hall of Bay Minette; seven great-grandchildren and their spouses, Carolyn and James Hutchinson of Spanish Fort, Wayne McCarn of Bay Minette, Theron Hall, Junior Hall of Travis Hall of Millington, Tenn., and John Hall, Jr., and Rick Hall of Louisiana; four great-great-grandchildren, Christopher McCarn and Vandie Odom of Spanish Fort, David Wayne McCarn II of Citronelle and John Hall III of Mobile; 15 step-great-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren, six step-great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
James Edward Shipp

Funeral services for James Edward Shipp, 51 and a resident of Atmore, were held on March 8, 2003 at the Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, with Rev. Gladden Mothershed and Rev. Richard Daniels officiating. Interment followed at Sardis Cemetery.
Shipp was retired from the Fountain Correctional Center after 25 years. He was a member of the Retired Employees of the State of Alabama and attended the Baptist Church. He was also a dedicated race fan and coffee drinker. He died on March 6, 2003.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Venton Shipp.
He is survived by his wife, Margie M. Shipp of Atmore; his mother, Dollie Flowers Shipp of Atmore; a son, Steve Kelly and wife April of Perdido; two daughters, Connie Shipp Crews and husband Koty of Atmore and Jamie M. Shipp of Atmore; a brother, Barney Ray Shipp and wife Edna of Nokomis; a sister, Carolyn DeViller and husband Jerry of Maine; and two grandchildren, Colton Kelly and Phenix Crews.
Active pallbearers were Ricky Crook, Ricky White, Johnny Burkett, Josh Flowers, Jerry Searcy and Roger Alverson. Alternates were Sam Lee and Hal Nesbett.
Eastside Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
