Registrations and Opening Day ceremonies are blossoming like spring flowers this month, as youth baseball teams prepare for the 2003 season.
Some registrations and other ceremonies being planned are listed below:
Atmore Cal Ripken Baseball
Registration for the Atmore Cal Ripken Baseball League will be held on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Atmore City Hall.
The league is open to players ages 7-12. The playing age is determined by the age of the player prior to Aug. 1, 2003.
Atmore Babe Ruth Baseball
Registration for the Atmore Babe Ruth Baseball League will be held on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Atmore City Hall.
The league is open to players between the ages of 13 and 19. The playing age is determined by the age of the player prior to Aug. 1, 2003.
NWE Opening Day
The Northwest Escambia League's Opening Day is scheduled for 9 a.m. on March 29.
The events will be held at Bradberry Park in Walnut Hill, and everyone is welcome to attend.
NWE Cheerleading
The Northwest Escambia Football League will hold cheerleading registration every Saturday in April from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Ernest Ward Middle School.
The cost is $15 to register, and families will also be responsible for the cost of uniforms.
