Prayer services, churches respond to war

At Monday's meeting of the Atmore City Council, members of the audience pointed out that impromptu prayer services are being held.
In addition to the Tuesday night Citywide Prayer Service that is held at different locations throughout the city, some churches are also opening the doors to allow people to come and pray on their own.
The following churches are offering opportunities for prayer during the week as American troops advance on Baghdad during the war against Iraq. To have your church listed, send the information by fax to 368-2124.
First United Methodist Church will open its chapel from 12-1 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Gaines Chapel A.M.E. Church announced Monday that it will have its chapel open each day throughout the day.
