Community Pride will be a big theme during this year's Mayfest, scheduled for May 3 in Tom Byrne Park.
The Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce is currently selling Community Pride T-Shirts in conjunction with the annual festival. Shirts are $10 each, or companies can have a logo and a yellow ribbon placed on the right sleeve for $2 more, making for a total cost of $12 for any size shirt.
Companies wishing to have their logo placed on a shirt are asked to order a minimum of 12 shirts.
Another event that will be held again this year during Mayfest will be the Mayfest 2003 Beautiful Baby Contest, open to youngsters ages 3 months to 3 years.
The event will be held on the Gazebo Stage in Tom Byrne Park starting at 9:30 a.m. Applications are available at the Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce, Just 4 Kids, The Tot Shop, Tiny Town Day Care, Precious Moments Preschool and Dayce and Shadaland Day Care.
Pre-registration is $12 per child, while registration the day of the event will be $15. Prizes will be given to the runner-up and winner in each category. Every participant in the contest will receive a special Mayfest "Patriotic" t-shirt.
This year's event is being sponsored by Atmore Children's Clinic and Cynthia Worrell-White, M.D.
