Willie Charles Trentham
April 4, 2003
Graveside services for Willie Charles Trentham, 80 and a resident of Pace, were held on April 8, 2003 at Forest Crest Cemetery in Birmingham.
Born in Pontotoc, Miss., on May 2, 1922 to the late Charlie E. and Jessie Lindsey, he was a retired painter. He died on April 4, 2003 in Pensacola.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Bozeman Trentham, and a stepson, Ferrell Lee Bain.
He is survived by his stepson and his wife, Derrell and Frances Bain of Birmingham; two daughters, Sherry Rhodes of Pace and Karen Drummond of Dora; nine grandchildren, Nancy Rhodes and Kelly Rhodes Gash, both of Pace, Derek Drummong and Wendy Trullio, both of South Carolina, Brent Drummond and Kim Bain, both of Birmingham; Kevin Drummond of Dora, William Drummond of Enterprise and Serena Dunham of Pace.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Inc., was in charge of all arrangements.
Marjorie Clemons Brown
April 7, 2003
Funeral services for Marjorie Clemons Brown, 62 and a resident of Perdido, will be held on April 12, 2003 at 1 p.m. at Elizabeth's Holiness Baptist Church in Atmore. Interment will follow at Morning Dove Baptist Church Cemetery in Perdido.
Viewing will be held from 1-6 p.m. on April 11, 2003 at Robinson Funeral Chapel.
She died on April 7, 2003 in Detroit, Mich.
Robinson Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Mary Alice Maye
April 4, 2003
Funeral services for Mary Alice Maye, 72 and a resident of Atmore, will be held at 1 p.m. on April 10, 2003 at Greater Mt. Triumph Baptist Church in Atmore. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Atmore.
Viewing will be held today, April 9, 2003, from 1-6 p.m. at Robinson Funeral Chapel.
She died on April 4, 2003 at her residence.
Robinson Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Elson Ray Peavy
March 16, 2003
Funeral services for Elson Ray Peavy, 69, were held on March 19, 2003 at Cypress Creek Cemetery in Washington County, Fla., with Rev. Fred Lowrey officiating.
A resident of Youngstown, Fla., for 30 years after moving from Mossy Head, Fla., he was a member of First Baptist Church of Bayou George and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
He loved growing flowers in his yard and fishing. He died on March 16, 2003 in a Youngstown, Fla., nursing home.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth "Liz" Peavy of Youngstown, Fla.; two daughters, Janet Faye Peavy McLain and husband Mark and Penny Allison Peavy Smiedala and husband, Ronnie, all of Mobile; three sons, Michael Ray Peavy and wife Linda of Mobile, Steve Austin and wife Fay of Madison, Wisc., and Jerry Austin of Youngstown, Fla.; a brother, Jerry Peavy of Mobile; his mother, Bertha Peavy of Mobile; seven grandchildren, Tony Roberts, Christopher Peavy, Mike Robison, Tiffany Danielle Robison, Chad Roberts, Dale Peavy and Michael Shane Peavy; and two great-grandchildren, Victoria Roberts and Trae Roberts.
The deceased's grandsons served as active pallbearers.
Heritage Funeral Home of Panama City, Fla., was in charge of arrangements.
Clinnie B. Gibson
March 29, 2003
Funeral services for Clinnie B. Gibson, 72, were held on April 1, 2003 at Cowan Funeral Home in Covington, with the Revs. Harold Henderson, bryan Gibson and John Gibson officiating. Interment followed at Lawnwood Memorial Park.
Born in Escambia County, Ala., she was the daughter of the late Jesse Lee and Clara Belle Peacock Gibson. A former resident of Chamblee, she lived in Covington for the past 12 years.
She was retired from Scientific Atlanta, attended Grace Baptist Church and was a member and volunteer for AmVets.
She attended a senior group in Rockdale County and worked with many homebound residents. Her hobbies were crafts and sewing. She made pillows, quilts and ceramics. She died on March 29, 2003 at her residence.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jo Ann Freeman.
She is survived by her daughters, Paulette Martin and Margaret Crutchfield, both of Covington; Clara Mae Gonzalez of Pensacola; Mildred Howell of Atmore and Bertie Miller of Brewton; brothers David Gibson of Bratt and Gladen Gibson of McDavid; grandchildren, Shane Johnston, Jessica Freeman and Adam Martin; and great-grandchildren, Ashton Anderson and Destinee Johnston.
Caldwell &Cowan Funeral Home in Covington was in charge of all arrangements.
