U.S. Senator Richard Shelby, middle, was in Atmore Thursday for a town hall meeting in one of the restored cabins at Heritage Park. Shelby was in Atmore as part of his annual state tour, where he holds a town-hall meeting in every county in Alabama. Shelby said he makes the tour because he thinks it's important to meet with his constituents. "I've tried to come home, to be involved and to listen, mainly, to the people. Shelby discussed the banking industry, the war in Iraq and Homeland Security, recent scandals in the corporate sector and economic development. Escambia County was the 62nd county he's visited this year.
