Randolph B. Luttrell, Sr.
May 9, 2003
Funeral services for Randolph B. Luttrell, Sr., 91 and a resident of Atmore, will be held Monday, May 12, 2003 at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church with Dr. Doug Newton and Wesley Kendall officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Family will receive friends tonight at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m.
Luttrell was a retired owner of Bateson's Furniture Store.
He was born in Brewton on March 26, 1912 to the late Randolph and Georgia Binion Luttrell and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Luttrel of Atmore; a son, Randolph B. "Rusty" Luttrel, Jr., of Atmore; a daughter, Betty Kelly Kendall of Grand Junction, Colo.; a sister, Lucille Howell of Atmore; three grandchildren, Guy Kendall, Kelly Kendall, Caitlyn Luttrel; and four great-grandchildren, Rebecca Kendall, Catherine Kendall, Joshua Kendall and Britton Kendall.
Anna Matus

Funeral services for Anna Matus, 93, were held Saturday, May 7, 2003 at St. Roberts Catholic Church.
The service was officiated by Father Jim Dane. Interment followed at Godwin Cemetery with Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing.
She passed away on May 6, 2003 in Century.
She was a native of Versailles, Penn., and a former resident of Bayonne, N.J., and a resident of Flomaton since 1987.
She was a member of the Catholic Slovak Ladies Association and attended St. Robert's Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Stephen Matus, and two daughters; Mary Dranis and Lisa Matus.
She is survived by two sons; John Matus of Port St. Lucie, Fla. and Joseph Matus of Bayonne, N.J.; two daughters, Lillian Roye of Flomaton, and Susan Reiche Jeter of Bratt; 21 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Chris Roye, Brian Roye, Jason Roye, Mike Roye, Lance Reiche, Freddie Meyers and Mikey Roye.
Juanita J. Messer

Funeral services for Juanita J. Messer, 71, of Atmore, were held Thursday, May 8, 2003 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel. The service was officiated by Rev. Lewis Caballero.
Interment followed at Sullivan Cemetery in Perdido.
She passed away on May 6, 2003 at her home in Atmore. She was a homemaker.
She was born in Bay Minette.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Travis Morgan Presley and Jessie May Joyner Presley, and a son, Lynn Messer.
She is survived by her husband, George M. Messer; four sons, John James of Atmore, R.L. James of LyErly, Ga., Michael Messer Sr. of Rome, Ga., and Glen Thomas Messer, also of Rome, Ga.; and one daughter, Donna Mae Messer of Atmore.
Pallbearers were Brad James, Ryan James, Justin Messer, Michael Messer, Ray James and Chet Presley.
