EA JV team takes state

Escambia Academy's junior high track teams take state titles in the 1A/2A division
The Cougar's Junior High Boy's and Girl's track teams both took first place in the 1A/2A division at the Third Annual Junior High State Track Meet which was held in Mobile. Every member of the teams either scored points in an individual event or on a relay.
For the girls, state records were set by Katie Smith in the long jump, Morgan Dorriety in the triple jump, Jessica Nesmith in the shot put and Andrea Nall in the 400 meter run and 300 meter hurdles.
For the boys, state records were set by Dalton Murphy in the 100 and 200 meter dashes, Alan Ash in the two mile run and the boys 4-by-400 meter relay team of Ryan Woods, Alex Hetzel, Matt Ash and Bruce Smith.
For the meet Dalton Murphy received the Most Valuable Boy Award and Andrea Nall received the Most Valuable Girl Award.
