Mr. Jimmy Eugene James, 68, of Lampass, TX, died Sunday, May 18 at Rollins Brook Community Hospital in Texas. HE retired from the U.S. Army as an E-7 having served during the Vietnam Era. HE was in the insurance business and real estate and was a property broker.
Mr. James is survived by his wife, Rosalina "Rose" Castillejos James of Lampass, TX; three daughters, Scarlett and husband Martin Coulson of Lewisville, TX, Jeanna and husband David Witt of Key Largo, FL, and Ruby and husband Richard Bigham of Lampass, TX; one brother, Arthur "A.G." James of Dothan, Al; one sister, Erma Baggett of Bay Minette, AL; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 24 at 32 p.m. at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with Rev. Wendell Hadley and Rev. Ray Bundy officiating. Interment followed at James Family Cemetery with full military honors.
Pall bearers included Rick Hodge, Clint Coulson, Jake Witt, Josh Witt, David Witt, Martin Coulson, Brad Butts, Ronnie Muse, and Richard Bigham.
Norris Funeral Home in Bay Minette, Al was in charge of arrangements.
Randolph Macon Leatherwood

Mr. Randolph Macon Leatherwood, 62, of McKinney, TX died Tuesday, Amy 20, in Middleton, OH. He was a Supervisor, born in Atmore on March 23, 1941 to the late William A. and Ronda Mason Leatherwood.
He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, William R. Leatherwood, Mason Earl Leatherwood, and Douglas Pat Leatherwood.
Mr. Leatherwood is survived by his wife, Gloria P. Leatherwood of McKinney TX; one son, Jeffery Adkins and wife, Barbara of Spencer, Indiana; one daughter, Rebecca Clark and husband Lewis III of Liverpool, OH; one brother, Winston Leatherwood of Atmore, Al; one sister, Betty Joyce Lee of Excel, AL; seven grandchildren; Jason Adkins, Lewis Clark IV, Mary Adkins, Kelli Adkins, Jessica Clark, Andrew Clark, and Jeffery Adkins.
Funeral services will be May 28 at 1 p.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bob Gibson officiating. Interment will follow in Serenity Gardens in Atmore, Al. Active pallbearers are William Peterson, Lynn Leatherwood, Clark Leatherwood, Barry Fullerton, Paul Fullerton, and John Lee.

James Sullivan Sanks

Mr. James Sullivan Sanks, 76, born in the Dyas Community and a resident of Bay Minette, Al, died Saturday, May 24, at North Baldwin Infirmary. Mr. Sanks was a retired machinist.
He is survived by his wife, Nell Shiver Sanks of Bay Minette, AL; four sons, Ronald Sanks, Thomas Sanks, Billy Sanks, and Ricky Sanks, all of Bay Minette; Three daughters, Patsy Bouler and Sandra Boatwright of Atmore and Donna Weatherford of Bay Minette; one brother, Claude Sanks of Savannah, GA; one sister, Pauline Smith of Atmore, Al; fifteen grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 27 at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home. Interment followed at Perdido Baptist Cemetery. Active pallbearers included Kyle Hadley, Mark Hadley, Jeremy Sanks, Randy Sanks, Johnny Brinkman, Andy Boatwright, Mikie Bouler, and Tom Sanks. Honorary Pallbearer was Ricky Sanks.
Norris Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Florence O. Morris

Mrs. Florence O. Morris, 88, passed away May 25, 2003 in Century, FL. Mrs. Morris was a native of Rolatin, CT and a resident of Century. She is survived by her caretaker, Ella Branson of Century, FL. Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 27, 2003 at 2:30 p.m. at the Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Sister Helen Stewart officiating. Burial followed at Bryars-McGill Cemetery.

Elizabeth Browder Wilson

Mrs. Elizabeth Browder Wilson, 84, of Foley, Al, formerly of Atmore, died Sunday, May 25 in Foley. She was a homemaker born in Montgomery, Al on July 23, 1917 to the late Hubert and Annie Love Browder. Graveside services for Mrs. Browder will be held Wednesday, May 28 at 11 a.m. in Oak Hill Cemetery with Dr. Doug Newton officiating. Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
Mrs. Browder is the preceded in death by her husband, William Woodrow Wilson.
She is survived by one son, William B. Wilson of Orange Beach, Al; two daughters, Betty W. Cobb of Anderson, SC and Cindy Thigpen of Elberta, AL; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Ralph Raymond Johnson

Rev. Ralph Raymond Johnson, 87, of Halls Fork, AL passed away May 26, 2003 at Atmore Nursing Care Center. He was born October 16, 1915 at Brady, AL to Andrew Jackson (Jack and Grace Duck Johnson. HE was raised in Atmore, but lived most of his adult life at Halls Fork.
Brother Johnson was saved and called to the ministry in 1948. HE held credentials with the Pentecostal Holiness Church for four years and then with the Assemblies of God Church for the last 47 years. During his ministry he served as pastor of several churches in the Atmore area: Pineville Pentecostal Holiness Church, Dry Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church, Enon Pentecostal Holiness Church, Dry Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church, Oak Grove Assembly of God (Monroe County, AL) Bratt Assembly of God, Dyas Assembly of God, Orchard Assembly of God (Mobile, AL), Halls Fork Assembly of God, Bay Springs Full Gospel Church, Antioch Free Will Baptist Church, and Nokomis Holiness Church. He is known locally for the many funerals he preached-his record book indicates some 500.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Gertrude Howell Johnson, and two sons, Rodrick Johnson and Darrell Johnson. He is survived by three sons, Dale Johnson of Molino, FL, Jerry Johnson of Meridian, MS, Kenneth Johnson of Molino, FL; two sisters, Mable Roley of Atmore, AL and Edith Hudson of Bay Minette, AL; 20 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren..
Funeral services for Rev. Johnson will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2003 at 4 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home with Rev. Thursia Long, Rev. Jerry Johnson, and rev. Kenneth Johnson officiating. Pall-bearers will be his grandsons. Burial will be at Godwin Cemetery in Bratt, AL.
