Albert M. Johnson Sr., 74, of Atmore, died Wednesday at Tuskegee. He was a cook with D. &D. Catering. He was a member of the Bay Minette VFW. He was born in Butler County, at McKinzie, on March 23, 1928 to the late James and Louise Presley Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Roberta "Bonnie" Johnson.
He is survived by one son, Albert Wayne Johnson of Atmore; one daughter, Brenda Hall of Atmore; four grandchildren, Vicky Williams, Lisa Ward, Michelle Tuberville and Allen Hall; seven great-grandchildren, Kristy Tuberville, Ashley Smith, Claudia Tuberville, Allen "Bo" Ward, Brittany Williams, Cody Hall, and Jessie Ward; two nephews, Jerry Johnson, and Tommy Johnson of Evergreen; two nieces, Patricia Costell of Evergreen and Brenda Grant of Montgomery.
Services were held Friday at the Oak Hill Cemetery with Bro. Richard Daniels officiating.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of all arrangements.

Mary Kate Daniels Gulsby died Wednesday at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola. She is survived by her husband, Rudolph J. Gulsby of Atmore; one daughter, Gayle Davis of Dacula, Ga.; two sons, Eric A. Daniels and wife Aimee of Woodland, Calif.; and Chandler Daniels and wife Rita of High Springs, Fla.; sister Sylvia Butts of Montgomery; stepfather Alburt Davis of Montgomery; and three granddaughters. Ruth Alberta Cottrell

Ruth Alberta Cottrell, 72, died Saturday at her residence.
Mrs. Cottrell was a native of Century and a resident of Brooklyn, N.Y for many years before returning to Century. She was a member of the Faith Apostolic Mission in Century. She was retired as a presser for a clothing company and she was a foster parent.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Isom and Bell Blackmon; her mother, Marzetta Stallworth; her father, Henry McCaskill; and her brother, Waldo Blackmon.
She is survived by three daughters Cheryl Cottrell-Cole and husband Gregory of Century; Tyeitha and Tyisna Cottrell, both of Century; three sons, Michael D. Cottrell of Brooklyn, George W. Cottrell of Tampa, Fl; and Kevin L. Cottrell of Century; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, at the Apostolic Faith Mission in Century. Burial followed in the Century Cemetery. Friends of the family served as pallbearers.

Marvin Lewis Peoples

Marvin Lewis Peoples, 51, died Saturday at Howard University Hospital in Washington D.C. He was a native of St. Louis and a resident of Washington for many years. He was a retired commercial truck driver and served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his mother, Annie L. Johnson of Atmore; his daughter, Jacquetta Peoples of St. Louis; his son, Antoine L. Peoples of St. Louis,; his father, Jessie B. Peoples of St. Louis; three sisters, Pam Peoples, Sheila Peoples and Rita Peoples, all of St. Louis; and four granddaughters.
Funeral services were held Saturday, at the Zion Star AME Zion Church in Atmore with Rev. S. Mason officiating. Burial followed at the Fairview Cemetery in Atmore.
Turner Funeral Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.
